Luiza has been an amazing gift to our family over the past several years. She started teaching both of our children piano as complete beginners, and has an incredibly patient yet joyful approach. She gave my son a great foundation in understanding how to read music which is helping his progression with other instruments. My daughter has now been taking lessons from Luiza for several years and it’s wonderful to see how she has progressed. She uses songs that the kids know and like to make it fun and relevant, and has a gentle way of connecting with them while still encouraging persistence and patience with their learning process. Luiza has been my piano teacher for over five years. (I’ve been playing piano for 30+ years.) She also gave lessons to my son for about 3 years, from ages 11-13. Luiza is, in a word, the best. Both her musical skills and her ability to communicate with her students are exceptional. From a musical perspective, she emphasizes both technique and interpretation, and teaches both equally well. Her musical intuition is extraordinary and she is able to convey that to her students in the way she talks about and explains pieces they are working on. She is particularly skilled at solving problems of technique that come up when a student is learning a piece, and having a hard time mastering a particular passage or section of the piece. Luiza treats every student as if she believes that the student has the ability to become an outstanding musician.
On a personal level, in her relationships with her students, Luiza is also exceptional. She comes to every lesson full of enthusiasm and positive energy. During the years she has taught my son and me, there hasn’t been a single time she has come to the lesson with anything less than the best possible attitude and determination to give the best lesson she could … even though the lessons were often at night after she had already taught a full day of lessons. She teaches her lessons always with joy, happiness and laughter, yet always without detracting from the serious purpose of learning to play the piano. In the time that I’ve been taking lessons from Luiza I have referred several other students to her for piano lessons. Without exception, all have felt as positive about their lessons with Luiza as I have.

Luiza has been our son’s piano teacher for 8 years. What makes Luiza exceptional is her ability to engender enthusiasm in her students. She has a knack for identifying the student’s interest and channeling it into the learning process. In this way Luiza has guided the course of study along a path that is continuously aligning with our son’s rate of progress and evolving needs and interest, thereby making learning the piano a fun and desirable activity. Luiza does not hesitate to take a detour from Bach to Led Zeppelin knowing when such a diversion would make the journey more gratifying and achieve the same objective. Our son has found joy in playing the piano and has assembled a collection of songs that he has learned on his own, above and beyond his teaching assignments. It is a joy to see him take comfort in playing the piano as his escape for a moment of peace.
